Matt Johnson discovered climbing 13 years ago through the Edge Climbing Center in his home town of North Vancouver, BC. Competition climbing is the foundation of Matt’s climbing involvement. His teenage years were spent chasing the IFSC world championships where he consistently achieved top ten placements. He has onsighted v12, and was the overall Tour De Bloc winner for 2012/2013 season. Matt has 12 years competition and 8 years coaching experience. Matt is a current National Team coach and has spent two years developing the programs that push our Nations best climbers. Matt has 10 years experience setting for competitions, National Team training camps and in most of the gyms across the province. Matt is extremely excited to be involved with Base5’s new direction and vibrant community !
